Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I have to attend lessons in a class room?

No. We visit you in your setting. Appointments are made in advance, with your assessor, at a time convenient for you and your setting.

2. Will I keep the same assessor?

All the other units, for all the qualifications, will be taught by one assessor, except for the first two units of the Children’s Care Learning and Development Level 4 NVQ, which are taught by Kevin Smith. After you have finished these units, another assessor will take over. Occasionally, you may change assessor, if another assessor has more candidates in your local area.

3. Can I have … as my assessor?

Assessors are assigned, based up on their workloads. If they are working in your setting already, it is likely they will be assigned to you, in all other cases it cannot be guaranteed.

4.  How long does the qualification take?

This depends on the qualificationyou are undertaking, as well as the time you are able to devote to it.

Level 2 students can take between 6 to 12 months, but most are completed within 9 months.

Level 3 students take between 9 and 12 months, usually.

Level 4 can take students between 12 to 18 months to complete.

5.  Is the course funded?

Depending on your course, where you are based, your position and how many hours you work per week, funding may be available. Please contact the office on 01803 606974 or email olga@acdhelp.com for an individually tailored answer.

6. I have already started my qualification; can I finish it with you?

This depends on whether we can receive funding to help you complete your qualification.

7. When can I start?

Our courses can be started as soon as we have processed your application forms. An assessor will be notified of your approval and will contact you to book an induction. This process usually takes a month, upon receiving your application form.
